All true.

I'm considering a serious psk31 topband effort next
season. Suburban lot. Wire antennas in trees. Inv L,
or carolina windom @ 75'(low). As much power as I can
cleanly generate from a pw-1.

Question is...what freq(s) should I use, to enable the
maximum int'l work? Who said he'd mapped the int'l
allocations?

My first thought is, 1805-1807, on all but contest weekends,
when I'll be doing something else, anyway.

Input welcome. TIA.

At 3B9C it took us about 15 days to work 86 countries on 160m. I suspect
a motivated topband team on a major DXpedition could
work 100 countries if they were lucky with propagation and local receiving
conditions. A contest DXpedition might be able to do
DXCC in one weekend during WW CW in the next few years.

It isn't only because stations are bigger and technology
better, but because more countries are active. When Stew was
working DXCC, he had to wait months or years for a new
country to appear. There weren't 100 countries active at any
given time, not even remotely close in the early years.
