Hi Greg,

There's no reason to get into a debate about a subjective
thing about the definition of better. The most important
thing is to have the feed system not burn other things up!!

As long as people know a 1/4 wl sloper without counterpoise
it is a problem plagued feed system and most of the
radiation may not come from the sloper but from random
things they never thought about or planned for, that should
be enough.

I disagree that "top feed" is an advantage. With a vertical
antenna using a given amount of top loading, height, and
ground system where you stick the feedpoint is largely
meaningless for efficiency except for the impedance the coax
would see.

Life's full of tradeoffs. Easy things to do are not often
the best things to do.
