Thanks John for all the testing and letting us know the results.

This may be one of the reasons  why close to the ground Beverages are
getting such nice patterns as the down leads are very short.  Also the
Beverage wire to ground impedance could make it look more like a
transmission line with one lossy leg.  (:-}-
Terminate the far end of a transmission line with the correct resistance and
little signal reflection takes place.
