Topband: coaxal stubs

when cutting stubs that go through a switch box ( for SO2R) i put the
other side of the tee to a dummy load es trim for lowest swr.This way I
take into account the length of the 6 way coax(relay box) switch..Iam I
doing it wrong by  using this method?? Allan vk3pa
