I can put up about 110 feet of wire for topband, and am toying with the
idea of a loaded dipole, a la:

http://www.k7mem.com/Electronic_Notebook/antennas/shortant.html

As a starting point, I am thinking of a 110 foot wire cut for 1.85 MHz,
#14 wire, then selecting option 7 in the program (38 ' 6" / 16 ' 6" /
176.4 uH inductor).

Any comments/experiences on:

1. The pros and cons of such an antenna?

2. The option 7 selection, versus another of the 9 options?

3. Inductor losses?

4. Bandwidth?

5. Instead of mounting the balun at the feedpoint (because of the
weight), feed with 60 feet of 300-ohm ribbon, then the balun.
