Good Day All,

If anyone is interested, I've scanned two pages plus a summary table from
the 20th edition of "THE ARRL ANTENNA BOOK" re. "idealized" radial systems
beneath a vertical antenna.

Perhaps "...minimally compromised" would be a more apropos term...

No matter: this summary is based upon actual measurements, and goes a long
way in helping dissipate a LOT of the "fog" that clouds 90% of the minds of
Topbanders (both newbies, and others) when it comes to the subject of ground
radials.

There's more to a successful radial field than simply "...put in as many as
you can". The scan busts some sacred taboos, IMHO, and should serve as tonic
in inspiring us medium / little pistols deking it out in the pile-ups on
160...
