If the only problem is that the meter lights don't come on, you may need to
change the bulbs or the batteries. I got tired of changing batteries, so now
I use a 12 v power supply though an MFJ terminal strip for all my low
voltage needs.

What is the model number....there is not to much that can go wrong with
them. You might check at the switches and coil for any bad contacts
which normally if not burned can be repaired with a pencil eraser or
some very light emery cloth.
