Just a few days ago I received in the mail, unsolicited, a catalog from
"Northern," subtitled "lawn & garden equipment guide."
Their telephone is 1-800-533-5545, homepage http://www.northern-online.com.
The one in my hand is "flyer #513." On page five upper righthand corner,
"peregrin falcon helps keep birds and pests away," item 251613-F509 for
$12.99, below it "realistic owl guards your garden," item 25161-F509 for
$12.99, and below that "Look Alive! Moving Owl...special base provides
lifelike motion with just the slightest breeze..." item 252610-F509, for
$18.99. And below that is "Big Eyes yellow balloon scares birds away
from your crops." Balloon has eyes painted on it...guess that's enough
to fool birds. Looks kinda scary to me! item 25169-F509, $9.99.
