Someone wrote... "secret" that when  the antenna always seems to
resonate too low no matter how you adjust the gamma rod and
cap...LENGTHEN the driven element.  This is counter to intuition but
works I believe because it makes the element more capacitive.  Anyway,
it works.

When even you lengthen an element, you NEVER introduce additional
capacitance reactance ( unless you lower the frequency of course. You do
introduce INDUCTIVE" reactance. A gamma match does have the ability to
"draw" an antenna to what appears to be a resonant antenna, however, a
1:1 SWR will never be achieved. This is a sure tip off that your element
lengths are wrong.
