In requards to windloads of force-12 antennas. I recently had the =
pleasure of using a force-12 C3S on top of a 40' crankup tower. We =
experienced a severe thunder storm with winds around 50miles per hour. =
This storm caused the tower to start to buckle at its pivot point. The =
antenna survived the wind superbly, the only thing is when the tower =
fell the sudden stop sent elements everywhere. The moral of the story =
is its not the wind that gets you, its the sudden stop.
