A wide swr like that is a sure indication of loss!! You could
forget the radials. Just drive a piece of pipe in the ground,
connect the ground shield to it, and have a great SWR. That is
one reason trap verticals of old used to advertise, "no radials
needed." Gives great bandwidth and a great SWR. Give me a 2:1
bandwidth of about 75 kc on 80 and I'll be happy. 73
