I am planning the installation of a 100' Rohn 45G
tower,
and would like to use Polygon's 3/8" fiberglass rod
to guy it with. I can't find a dealer or distributor
that stocks the stuff, and Polygon won't take an
order for less than 5000 feet. They will, however,
ship parts of that 5000 foot order to as many
locations as I
want, so...
Does anyone out there need fiberglass guy rod for an
upcoming tower project? If we can get 5-7 folks
together, we could meet the minimum order size. The
stuff is stiff (about the same % elongation as 1/4"
EHS), strong (13,000 lbs, vs. 6700 for 1/4" EHS), and
completely transparant to RF. It can be terminated
with Glas-Grips from the Big-Grip company. It is
also reasonably
priced, from what I can gather - in the same ballpark
as EHS and much less than Phillystrand (sp?).
I would be willing to coordinate the order. The
stuff would be drop-shipped to your location. If you
are interested (seriously, please), send me an
email. If I get enough interest, I will try to make
this happen.
If you have actually used this stuff for a project,
and have any comments or suggestions (about
suppliers, handling, etc.), I'd love to hear from you.
