Howdy all,

I've just finished putting up my VHF/UHF/Satellite antenna array and have a
question about the rotor I am using.

My azimuth rotor is an AR-22. I purchased it at a hamfest for $20 and it
certainly looks big enough to handle the load on it. I bought a control box
(CDE model AR-10) on E-Bay for about $5.00 so, it's been a pretty cheap
rotor. However, I don't like it now that it's up!

The rotor is a 4 wire rotor and the control box is one of those that buzzes
and clicks really loud as the antenna is turning. And the worst part is
that it seems horribly inaccurate. I can line the antenna up on north or
any direction for that matter, move the antenna back and forth a bit and any
and all alignment is gone. Just in the little that I have played with it,
I've had to run outside and see where I am at.

So, is there a better control box out there for it? Will a better control
box provide a more accurate pointing measurement or is the rotor just not
that accurate either.

I'm out very little money on this so that's not a big deal. It's more of a
sweat equity thing. I would rather not get a new rotor if I don't have to.
Just looking to see if there's a way to make this work.

Jon
