Hi Mark,

I own two LM-470's. The rotor plate (or the extra thrust bearing plate) is a
is a triangular plate with round rod welded on each point. The rods are bent
to lock into the point of the cross-brace attachment point to the vertical
tubing.

Your not missing anything, it works just like you invisioned it. A little
hint,
call Karl at http://www.karltashjian.com/ and order an extra rotor plate.

Then purchase another thrust bearing just like the one you have at the top
of the
tower. Put the extra plate and thrust bearing assembly inside the tower about
3-5 feet. down from the top of the tower. Then mount the rotor and rotor plate
below this thrust bearing. This makes it a whole lot more stable, takes the
load off of the rotor, and makes it so you can remove the rotor and not have
to 'chase' the bottom of you mast around the tower.

You loose a little height in the mast doing it this way, but you won't
loose any sleep if the rotor dies and has to be removed for repair.

Hello you guys,

Im just starting to rebuild a Triex LM470 and am checking to see if an Alfa
Spid rotor will fit. While looking through the manual I cant see exactly how
the rotor shelf fits to the top section. All I have for hardware that fits the
rotor plate are 3 threaded bolts that attach to a v shaped piece of steel.
Basically what Im asking is does the rotor shelf just basically rest on the
rungs
inside the top section or are there some additional pieces Im missing? Thanks
in advance. BTW, The heat index in Iowa was 113 today, great for tower work.
