The reinforcement is at the _middle_ of the boom [at the boom-to-mast bracket] where there are NO swaged joints, NOT at the joints present along the boom.

My 40M4 has swaged boom joints.  If I make the insert small enough diameter
to pass through the joints, the tube will not be in contact with the inside
of the boom, except at the joints.  Will this strengthen or stiffen the
boom?
