   Joe, since you are going with the new winch with the 40-1 ratio....If you 
have a "portable" drill, or a drill with  enough cord to reach your tower, it 
should be possible to make a little adapter, and simply use your drill to 
raise and lower your tower!  Doing the engineering/machine shop etc before you 
install it would obviously be best. The 40-1 ratio makes the drill a viable way 
to  raise and lower....the 5-1 probably would never have the grunt necessary.
