You'd be surprised how many stories I've heard about Hams who thought that a
gin pole was not needed, and put up towers without one.
The folks on this list know this already... but when elmering a new ham who
is about to put up thier first tower this needs to be part of the basic
equipment list of things you should OWN.
The radio club's rusty gin pole that's been sitting out in the rain, beat on
with sledgehammers, and comes with a moldy roll of manilla rope is not a
good choice...
