Gedas,

The poor connection problem with cushcraft 40-2CDs was pointed out by
someone way back but I can't find the reference. You may get lucky and
find you have no problems with the self tappers, but the total solution
is to replace the silly self tapping screws with small stainless bolts
and hardware that go all the way through the loading coil form. Over
time in the wind, the self tapping screws tend to work their way loose
and also rust. (Maybe CC has upgraded the self tappers to stainless
steel?) I used lok tite and also double nutted them and then hack
sawed off the excess bolt and filed smooth what was left. Of course,
this means you must replace all of the shrink tubing. I've had mine up
now for at least four years in some pretty good winds and have no
problems with intermittent contact.

Good luck
