Unfortunately (?) we don't all live in FL, and we don't get to test
our ground systems on a regular basis.  You can't really trust your
ground system unless you can test it under realistic conditions. 
That's a price most of don't want to pay.  Paranoia is a cheap
substitute!

I am in awe of folks who survive lightning strikes on a regular basis.
 Of course, the ones who don't survive tend to be pretty quiet...
