I have no idea doc.
I do plan on finding a few good chunks with a magnet and running some simple
tests.
Like seeing what kind of conductivity it has and see what kind of readings I
can get when it is near RF. I may just pop some in a planter about 18 inches
long and transmit 5 watts in the vhf band and see what kind of readings I get
(18 inches is very close to 2 meters and easy to run tests with equipment I
have on hand)
I have noticed after it rains I have less noise on hf even after I water lawn
but that may be anything. ( all the fenceing for a block of so of me is tied
together and I bonded the fence to my rf ground system)
Sill it gives you something to pounder...

I was reading a post about VLF activity and then
wondered if metallic slag could generate RF noise
under certain conditions.

Have you tried a handheld SW radio out there?

I was wondering if you have a driveway potentially
filled with little diodes which could rectify
static electric energy.

I think I need to get some sleep before my imagination
goes the rest of the way into the Twilight Zone!
