I routinely use a simple utility knife for cutting Philly...it works just  
fine when you "saw" the Philly with it.  The hardest job in working with  
Philly 
is putting on the ends.  I would rather put 3/8 EHS grips on than  3/16 
Philly.  What a PITA!  It's easier if you have one end in a  vise.
