I don't have any other verticals to compare it to.  I don't know if the
publication K7LXC was citing includes the R8.  I worked plenty of DX with it
this weekend but I don't have anything to comapare it to.  I am surprised by
what I can work at times though.

Mike, any idea on how your R8 performs vs. another vertical, say a ground
mounted type with radials?  I think that would be very interesting.

I have a couple of R8 Verticals that are elevated and they work pretty well.
The do not require any radials.  Most other verticals will require radials.
Even the BigIR requires radials.

Actually - the report that K7LXC did, is a good, well written report, with
good experimental data to back up the claims.  It certainly helped me make
an informed decision based on DATA as opposed to opinions.....

Opinions are like a A...holes - everyone has them.  But data is worth the
price.....
