One solution is to add a Top Ten devices A/B switch. Connect the A output
to your transmit antenna, the B output(input) to your AY, the RF output from
your 706 to the input of the A/B switch. The PTT line is attached to the A
activation terminal on the A/B switch.
To receive using the AY you will need to ground the B activation terminal on
the A/B switch. A small two transistor switch can be made to do this
switching from the ptt line.
