Ed, NI6S, had inquired about wire antennas. Regarding a dipole, why don't you use Dean Straw's HFTA program *BEFORE* arbitrarily selecting a height-above-ground, so you can base your decisions on *YOUR* actual terrain situation there and what your communication path objectives are (DX, Domestic, etc.). HFTA is a slick widget, and could use it for 2 or 3el "wire" yagis as well. FWIW & 73.
