Bob:

I am not certain you can use the DX Engineering connectors on any other RG6
other than what they sell. The DX Engineering connectors are designed to go
on that specific flooded cable. I think you may have used the wrong
connector for the Belden cable you have.

Tim -

Thanks for the input. I used their stripper, crimp tool, and connectors,
but not their flooded RG-6. I used regular Belden RG-6. It's been a while,
so I'll have to try this again to tell you exactly what bothered me about
the intial installation. I just can't remember exactly, but I didn't feel
the connector was properly connecting to the connector.

Hello Bob!

I installed a four square receiving system for 160 meters using the RG-6
cable, connectors, stripper and installation tool all purchased from DX
Engineering. I installed a connector in less than 30 seconds with these
tools. It was easy to use. Everything went together without a problem and
has been in use for 2 years. No problems at all with the connectors. I am
very confident about my installation.

Did you use the DX Engineering RG-6 stripper?

Mike -

Are you using the connectors, crimp tool, and cable supplied by DX
Engineering? I have their crimp tool and connectors but found them very
hard to use and was not confident about the resulting installation. In
defense of DX Engineering I have not contacted them and discussed the issue,
I just gave up and used the RG-6 connectors I'm used to. Just curious what
you're using.

Just a heads up. I was having some problems with my 4sq receiving array and
found that the coax was pulling back from the connectors so that there was
no contact being made. These were on high quality cable and the compression
connectors. I built this antenna when it was warm. It is now very cold and
been below zero. I wonder if that has anything to do with this issue.

Hopefully now I will see some better performance out of the array.

I also found that one of my ground had been removed, probably by the horses.
