Lightning may be hot, but current flowing through a properly done UFER ground
(aside from being required by the electrical code) doesn't get hot enough to
cause explosions (technically spalling).. Crummy rusted rebar or bolts maybe...
The Ufer ground was *invented* as a lightning ground.
