I remote four Alpha Spid rotators at distances from 200 to 500 ft away from the
ham station at ve6fi. Whilst it is nice to have 120 volts AC at the tower you
do not need it for the Spid rotators. You can have a 12 volt battery near your
reversing relays at the bottom of the tower to handle your relay and turn your
rotator. Then you can use control sized wiring to trickle charge the battery
from your shack.

Works every time.

Denis with Ve6fi
