I have set up a vertical and a 25G tower in my pasture for a series of
experiments to answer just the kind of questions you asked plus a number of
others relating to tower-vertical coupling and decoupling.
Unfortunately experimental work proceeds slowly and takes lots of time. I
won't have much to say for several weeks yet but when I'm finished I'll
write up the lot and post it.
However, if anyone is actually interested I can post a few pictures of my
version of a clamp-on current transformer and how I cut the ferrite core.
