I recently put up a dipole fed with open wire line. The connections at
the center insulator are made with acid core solder (lead free if that
matters).

Do such solder connections need to be protected from the weather with
COAX-SEAL or something similar?

What's the conventional wisdom? Thoughts or advice?

Thanks.
