I think most email programs have this type of capability.  I do the same 
thing as Roger in Outlook Express - 20 reflectors each with their own 
folder, I can see them all on one screen and they each show their own unread 
count.  All nice and orderly.  Easy to read when they are all sorted out.  I 
also have rules made up for "if the from line contains ..... then delete". 
Works great for the spam you keep on getting from some places.  What remains 
in my inbox can easily be deleted with only a few misc. messages remaining 
(click, shift-click, and control-click make easy work of cleanup).

Let the program sort them out.  With about 100 emails a day, I couldn't keep 
my head on straight without it.  Makes it a lot easier to find "that 
message" when you know what folder it is in.  Tower Talk has over 9000 
messages in 13 months and another reflector has over 21000, I delete those 
over 4 months old ever so often.  Time to do it again.
