One way is to clamp the end of the roll between a pair of galvanized 
steel busbars, and then connect to the middle of those bars using SS 
hardware.  Lengths of galvanized steel bar, ready drilled with holes, 
are a standard item in British builders merchants.

Another method would be to use the crossover clamps that I described a 
week ago (I have asked the fencing company to provide a web image, and 
will re-post the link when it appears).
