I my be old school.. But I spray clear Krylon paint on exposed conections. YMMV 
 Wayne W3EA  My alunimum SQ vertial ground plates look almost like when ther 
were installed 22 years ago. 
 Why not just use copper (with brass machine screws, nuts and washers)?   Are 
there any drawbacks to that?
