A wavelength must be a VHF rule of thumb.  There is no one on the planet
with wavelength spacing of HF stacked antennas on a mast.  The typical stack
distance goal is 10 ft on the mast.  Some people might have as much as 15
ft.  A lot of people of 5 - 6 ft.

 

Based on SWR interaction and changing direction 90 degrees.  I have found
10ft to be a good "low interaction" separation for 40 and 10m or 20 and 15m
on the same mast.  However k3NAs great published work of some years ago
showed that the "SWR test" was not indicative of the pattern distortion.
