I have run 1KW into RG58 with near 1:1 SWR on 40M/80m.
The cable did warm up afew degree's but it never failed.
However, on 15M to the same 40m antenna the foam dielectric flowed
essentially melting the cable.
RG6 will have slightly lower loss, but depending the dielectric YMMV I would
expect it to melt too.

Martin, Its really first about expected loss for 30 Mhz - isn't it? Why put
1KW into a cable that has loss of 1.8dB per 100 ft? How long a run are you
planning?

Definitely not feeling the Google love today!
Anyone have an idea of the 30MHz power handling capability for RG6A/U and
Belden 9104?
I have some RG59A/U as well but having seen RG58 melt I'm not inclined to
try it at 1kW.
Thanks
