Hi Eric,
A dozen years ago, I hired a "climbing arborist" to hang a pulley in the top of
my 85' Cedar tree He passed the rope thru a piece of thick rubber hose around
the tree trunk, and pulled the antenna rope thru the pulley and down parallel
to the tree trunk, to a counterweight.
Most recently, the antenna wire broke. I was denied rental of a quadcopter (aka
drone) because of the proximity to my tree. A local ham has a quadcopter and
took a look at the situation. He declined. I hired another climbing arborist.
No harm was done to the tree, and the pulley/counterweight works VERY well.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Putting up wire antennas with a drone?
I'm frustrated using a potato gun or Big Shot arborist's slingshot to put up
wire antennas in my city lot.
A local suggested using a drone instead. Legal requirements notwithstanding
(I'm in Washington, DC, a restricted flight zone), how hard is this to do?
Is it worth the effort to apply for a waiver?
Any advice or suggestions are appreciated!
