Maybe this idea might help.Although I don't have the th-7, I do have the th-6
and it's manual suggests the BN-12. Well I tried that for a while and it could
not handle the legal limit power. So I used Hy-gains other suggested option. I
constructed an RF choke which consists of 12 turns, 6 inch diameter of RG-8/U
coax.I've been using it for 20 years and it still works fine.GL 73Tom

It appears that the balun on my TH-7 has died. Can someone
please tell me if this is a 4:1 balun....the Hygain manual
is silent on this subject as far as I can tell.
