The station looked like and ad for Yaesu and Heil Pro-Sets.
Decided to go Multi-Multi to maximize fun...no 10 minute rule, plenty
of operating time. Since our M/S efforts look a lot more like M/M, it
was very easy to do a M/M in the equipment department. We normally run
4 radios and computers with the 6 monoband amps and antennas. It was
easy to add 2 radios and computers.
The 3 EL M^2 80 went up 2 weeks ago. Something is definitely wrong with
it. It has zero F/B which means it's like a 160' high dipole. Our 80M
line down from last year's M/S and only a 2 EL. So...back down it comes
this Saturday before CW SS (and back up before CW SS!). We have an idea
of what is wrong, but will not discuss it here. (I don't think it was
operator error.)
As far as 10M, I don't know what to say. We heard nothing! We drooled
at the spots coming in but became frustrated as we couldn't hear anything.
We are going to move another 5el up to about 145' to see if that will help.
