QRM: Celebrated my daughter's (Age 10 1/2) Birthday (yes, I'm
happy to celebrate the 1/2s, too) so got on a few hours to give
out some points. Some of you worked my daughter (Melanie) who
was eager to play RADIO GAMEBOY! (It beats playing Barbie's!)
We had a map of North America and marked off the States and
Provinces we worked. She enjoyed hearing the Beeps when logging
and seeing the increasing Score as we worked new QSOs and Mults.
When she learned about DUPEs, and somebody worked us as a DUPE,
she would say (off the air, thankfully) "YOU STUPE"! Of course,
when SHE inadvertently worked a DUPE, she would silently blush!
Started as Single Op but I suppose with her at the mic, too,
that throws us into the Multi Op class (w/ HP competition). Oh
well, the time invested shows we weren't trying to win anything
except for some FUN for ourselves! And, we succeeded at that.
