Comments: Had a lot of fun doing this. This was my first entry in the
RTTY Roundup, but unfortunately, with it being New Year's weekend, I
didn't have much time to participate. Still, though, when I did operate,
I had GREAT QSO rates. I was easily averaging close to 50 to 60 an hour
and peaking around 90 an hour. Most of my contacts were from sitting on
a frequency and calling. Had a few good pileups. Only a few were S&P.

I really wanted to test my FT-1000 and my Timewave in a RTTY contest
since I haven't used either in a RTTY contest before. The FT-1000 sure
did better than my FT-840 did in the 1997 CQWW RTTY contest! Wow! What
a difference. Couple that with the DSP and I was able to easily copy
stations that didn't even move the S-meter.

All in all it was fun and I look forward to next year, when hopefully,
I'll have more time.

73 to all and Happy New Year.
