What a great Contest! 71 stations worked on all 6 bands !
(e.g. 6Y2,6V6,5V7,3A,8P9,8Q7,J6,A4,A6,C4,3V8,EA8,J45,JY,XX,XZ,P3,P40)
245 stations on 5 bands or more
563 stations on 4 bands or more
1113 stations on 3 bands or more
We were concentrating on multipliers. And it shows.
After 24 hours the multiplier count was:
160 16/66
80 26/95
40 35/135
20 37/135
15 34/122
10 34/118
Gee - totally 1010 multipliers claimed - some kind of a record...???
Some 20m highlights (a'la OH2XX):
Working 159 countries says it all about our strategy. Got 100
countries in 10 hours. Passing mults to other bands went also
very smoothly. The highlight being XU1A answering to our CQ on
Sunday 2050Z. That one was still missing on all bands. So we
asked them to dance with us our famous "Paksalon polkka" a
finnish folk dance. Jumping and rolling from 20, 40 and 80 eventually to
160 meters in 5 minutes. Thrilling.
Having all the rigs connected to our CT network made passing mults
easy. And boy if you worked a mult that was missing on some other
band without asking him to QSY - that was a mistake you would not like
to repeat! Alt-G (CT talk) flames would burn you badly ;-)
There was some strain with multipliers too: Had quite a few spots on
3DA0CA but could not copy him. Beaming a couple of times with the big
stack to Africa really paid off. 3B8/DL9GFB came back to our CQ on
Sunday being followed by 3DA0CA only a few minutes later.
Enjoyed also working those weak DX signals from US and JA. We just
needed every QSO out there. The weaker stations are so patient
callers and we felt like we need to try hard on our side too. And so we
did. Getting the call right and hearing cfm/c/r felt really good.
It was also nice to get requests by many stations asking for skeds
and our running frequency on the other bands. 20m was obviously our
news bureau. And we were happy to serve everybody.
Our CT Ethernet network worked also great - thank´s to K1TTT for
developing the nettsr. Something we just could not live without.
THANKS Pekka, Telle & the kids!
