First time multi...no complaints...lots more to learn.

Bob and I had a great time. We took the simple approach of dedicating one
radio to 10/20/80 and the other to 15/40/160. We broke this regimen once when
20m stayed strong. 40m was giving me fits so I went to 80m for a few contacts.
It was a little early, so I went back to 40m shortly after.

I think we might have done a little better on 10m. The band was open, but Bob
was battling the 10-10/ragchew assault just a little. I heard K6LL's 10m
numbers on 3830...yikes over 500 Q's. Different part of the country to be
sure, but jeesum crow (as they say out here) what a freaking machine he is!
Dave you must be schizophrenic...a regular one man multi-op.

Bob spent a great deal of time getting the QTH ready...running coax, making
room for a second op, and all the unsung things that need to happen. We put
the 15m mono up in -15 degree or so weather (and knee deep snow). I was only
able to spend about 1 1/2 days there helping. Just barely enough to get the
dogs acquainted enough with me that they wouldn't chew me to pieces when I ran
down stairs on the way to the head.

The 80m dipole was originally a second windom, but we had an kinds of problems
with it. Bob re-cut it and toyed with it for a day...no help. My suggestion
was just to put up a ladder line fed dipole. We also noticed that 80m never
really went long, but the 80m numbers were pretty good (once Bob convinced the
window occupants that 3.801.5 was a fine place to be).

We'll do this again.
