Wow, what a horse race! Congrats to Frank, W3LPL and crew for the well
deserved win. We reported 17.5M on 3830 after the contest - we apologize for
the error. We counted three extra PJ7 mults because we thought CT didn't count
it. And hats off to all the other crews (K3LR, K9NS, and others) for turning
in great scores. Conditions were sure fabulous on all bands.
This contest was great fun...Steve K6AW and Bob N6HB joined us again from the
Left Coast and newcomer (to the new KC1XX station) Bert N4CW from North
Carolina joined us as well. Bert did a lot of operating and had a great time.
Some highlights:
- John W1FV opening up with a 125 hour on 80!
- Bob N6HB rocking and rolling on 160 with such great condx
- Great food (thanks Christine!)
- The tuner-upper who tried to jam me on 15 and had his transmitter drift off
frequency. Then it sounded like his whole power supply exploded.
- Climbing the 40m tower to get one of the 20m south beams out of the guy wire
(60mph+ winds on Saturday and C O L D !) Watching KM3T thaw out.
- Five /BUSTED spots in a 1 or 2 minute period
- Chocolate-covered strawberries served by Matt's daughters on Sunday afternoon
while things were slowing down
- No KP1XX spots on packet
- Lids, and more lids
- Dupes, and more dupes
