Comments:

My best score ever from my home in San Diego, CA. I operate only QRP.

I did S & P the entire contest.

My antennas are a TA33M tribander at 32 feet, and a DX-LB trapped dipole for
160-80-40 up 30 feet in the center, and about 15 feet at each end.

To stay anywhere near competitive with this antenna system, I have to stay on
the air as long as possible. That means 2 hrs sleep the first night and 4 hrs
the second night. I feel every bit of my 62 years by Sunday night.

This was my first contest with the FT-817, and it worked great. But I need to
get the CW filter!

Condx were great, and I was able to work Europe on 20 M almost the entire night
on Fri. My best Q was ZF1A on 80 M. Over the last 10 years, I've never worked
DX on 80 outside my immediate Pacific area. I also found JY9NX by himself on
10 M for my 3rd Q with JY in 11 years. ....and I broke a couple of piles,
always a thrill with 5 watts!

See you from TI5KD's place for the SSB part. I'll be TE1W, QRP of course.

Bill Parker W8QZA
