Whew, what a fun contest!!! I have never talked to so many people in a 10 hour
period!! Anyway, this is my first real major contest I have been in. I got an
invite to join N3CA's youth team for this contest and jumped at it right off the
bat. I didnt know any kids were in this hoby (and i do mean kids, not 50 year
olds, which may be kids compared to the average age of hams hi hi). Anyway, I
got on the team not exactially knowing how I would do (praying I wouldnt do
worst:) and got ready for some hard core qso-ing. I started up at the begining
and worked hard thorough out the whole day and actially ended up with 404 qsos.
Higher then I ever could have asked for!!! They say contesting is a art and now
I delieve it. There are alot of skills involved in getting "as many as
possible". The only thing that went wrong was when I tried to tune up on 80, I
couldnt. For the life of me I couldnt. So I lost 2 hours of time I oculd have
used. O-well, I ended up with a score I am very proud of. Now to go brag to the
hams here in my home town :)
Have a wonderful year and take care,
