Comments:

What a FUN event. Good Activity, Good Conditions, Good Operators.
It was nice to see Fall Season Propagation coming right on schedule.

20 Meters opened to Alabama just before the start of the contest, around 1145Z.
As K3WW noted, it wasn’t always easy to break through from NA. I expect many
Scandanavians were beaming towards Southern Europe and / or Asia. 20M continued
to have good propagation throughout the day but I took most of the afternoon as
OFF time.

15 Meters was open from 1300 to 1600Z with excellent signals but most activity
was concentrated between 1330 and 1430Z.

Europeans were heard several hours before my sunset on 40 Meters (N4KG SS
2350Z) and peaked an hour before my sunset. Signals from Scandanavia had
dropped considerably by 0100Z and even the Big Guns were weak until after
sunrise in Scandanavia with many Big Signals after 0500Z.

80 Meters displayed the typical winter peak at my sunset, working 1 OH, 2 LA, 3
SM from 2353 to 0014Z. I struggled to work 8 stations through incredible local
atmospheric noise from 0115 to 0200Z. Sunrise in SM produced several good
signals but apparently it was too late for OH.

Below is a copy of my checksheet and interesting statistics, compiled from my
paper logs on a spreadsheet AFTER the contest. All contacts were made using an
Icom 746 Barefoot at 100W.
