Comments:
The weather in Hungary gave us the most excitement on this weekend: when the
rear cardan joint of the drive shaft of our trusty Lada Niva broke in pieces
halfway to the station in melting but still knee-deep snow on Thursday evening
we knew that it won't be easy... Dismantling the shaft in the snow and driving
down with only the front wheels driven was the easy part.. Climbing the hill
(783m ASL) on foot, in a dark snowy forest with two headlamps shared by the
team is an unforgettable experience. An experience the Caribbean guys will
never have in an ARRL CW ! :)
It was nice to see 15m open and still enjoying decent condx on the low bands.
The stations were better distributed over the bands so the rates weren't
particularly high (only 10 hrs above 100 QSOs/hr, with 155 max on 15m). More
than two third of the QSOs were made on Saturday
The 6 bandchanges/hr rendered M/S in ARRL DX very boring so we know what to
expect in WPX CW... One (actually two) family disputes less for me per year...
