Comments:

My first entry in the Single op assisted category. I can see why people like
it. The mults just appear on the screen and you go work them. Well, you go
chase huge gnarly pileups and hope you work them. Did get to work lots of
mults I would never have found as a single op.

10m never opened to Europe from here. Everything was on scatter and there were
a number of stations that could not hear me. I think my top 10m beam is not
working as it should.

15m on Sat morning was amazing. Had a 209 hour plus 3 QSOs on the second
radio! New personal best on CW. Best 60 minutes was 217. Wow - what a rush!

15m and 20m both seemed to have an infinite supply of stations to work. Really
helped having the bands open deep into Russia.

After years of fault free operation my station is starting to show its age.
Burned up a coax relay last weekend in the RTTY contest so couldn't use the
tribander on one radio. About 1930z on Sat, I noticed the FT1000D would no
longer key the AL-1200. Some checking with the ohmmeter showed everything was
doing the right thing, but the relay in radio just wouldn't pull the amp into
transmit. Dug an old VHF transverter out of the closet and used it as an
intermediate relay between the rig and the amp. It worked!

Worked two JAs and NH2T on 80m on Sunday morning.

160m sounded absorbed on Friday night. Much better on Saturday, which really
helped the mult on that band. Could not get answers to CQs, but no problem
working stations.

Was a single parent of a 9 year old daughter this weekend so only a part time
effort. Had a blast when I was on. Just wish 10m had opened.

Operating quality was very high. No frequency fights. No frustration with guys
sending cut numbers that made no sense. The big problem on CW now is key
clicks. A pox on radio manufacturers who make rigs that can be overdriven to
click! Why do they do that?

Thanks to everyone who called in and provided so much fun this weekend!
