Comments:

After the horrible conditions of the last 3 weekends, this looked to be a big
improvement and indeed the first night had good rates on 20 and 15. Even 10 was
open to SA and JA altho it closed quickly, it held promise for the the next
afternoon. For much of the weekend it seemed the "propagation clock" was off
by about 3 hours, for both the low and high bands. Low bands took much longer
to open, esp the first night. Normal near sunrise Eu path on 20 and 15 was
shifted to late morning or not much at all in the case of 15m - runs to Eu were
shallow and short lived so my pre contest expectations did not come to pass. 10
was a much bigger miss as it never turned into anything runnable all weekend.
Only the high (150') yagi seemed much of any use and many paths from Eu and
Japan were skewed way south. Caught the tail end of 10m 3am Eu opening but
faded within a few minutes. 15m had similar short lived openings in the wee
hours to Eu as well. As often is the case, if things had just been a bit
better we could have bested the current WPX record from 1993, but it didn't
happen. We didn't even match our M/2 score of last year.

Equipment wise found us with more antenna choices (all working) then ever
before and all behaved well. In spite of some setup issues with N1MM and
incorrect serial numbers (tnx to N2IC for his guidance in this), it behaved
perfectly with ZERO network jitters of any kind.

   VC6Z was: VE6BF Bill, VE6OH Mitch, VE6TR Rob, VE6TCK Neil, VA6MA Maurice,
VE5MX Todd, VE6WQ Joel and myself. Thanks to Bill VE6BF for getting the special
VC6Z callsign (QSL's thru Bill). We may mount a multi effort for WPX CW with
it, we'll decide later.

Mitch and I will be be at Visalia so looking forward to to all that involves.
