Conditions were outstanding as everyone knows.

But I had some surpise visitors come by for the weekend, and we had our 7 year
old grandson over Saturday afternoon for an "overnight". When the grandson
comes into the shack and says "...what do you want to do, Grandpa?", you can't
tell him you are going to play radio all the time he is there!

So I spent quite a bit of time going out to dinner, playing with Legos, and
telling bedtime stories! Hence 19 hours of op time per N1MM's program!

40 M was the best I have ever seen it. I usually can't get into Europe from
here on the west coast with a small vertical and 3 radials. But I worked 11
Euros including even some eastern Europe (UA, OM, YL). Also the guys on
Rotuma.

20 M: I got JT5DX, a country I rarely work in a conest.

15 M: 3V8BB (Very nice to hear him!) and 5B/UW2M.

10 M: I managed to work ZS2NF, T88UU, 3D2RX (Rotuma) and GJ2A who was also
QRP.

Despite the short op time, I managed to get 75 DX entities in 27 Zones. I never
got Zones 3 or 4, and only got Zone 5 becuse Kurt was nice enough to work me on
3 bands from VP9!

I did not CQ in this contest. S&P was very effective because condx were so
great. 25.2% of my Qs were in Europe, and 26.1% of my Qs were with JA!

So it was a great contest. But the best way to be able to put in a full effort
is to travel and be somewhere where no one can bother you!

73 and see you in the ARRL DX Phone.

....Bill W6QU / W8QZA
