Comments:
I hereby vow never to enter the SS SSB test again. .at least not until next
year.
My end strategy for LP was to skip over 20m and go way early to 40m to carve
out a spot before most stations arrived there. After seemingly endless
unanswered cq's there were a few bites and then a small flood of QSO's,
providing an easy transition through the 1000 QSO mark in the last two hours.
Sweepstakes is getting so popular that it may be necessary to expand to 2
weekends for each mode and do a gas-rationing type allocation as was done in
the 1970's with license plates.
The unbelievable change from say 10 years ago . . was called by 3 VE8's (NT);
two had very low numbers (<20).
Very pleased to work and chat briefly with Dan, N1ND, the former ARRL Contest
Branch manager, who was operating from K9LA after a stint at the Ft. Wayne
convention. Dan warned me to copy his exchange carefully.
For cwss, it took 800 Q's to work WV; this time it was VE6 not worked until
#850.
